On the occasion of the inauguration of the Cultural Mile as part of the festivities for the 950th anniversary of the city, the inner courtyard of the Kunsthalle, which has rarely been used to date, will acquire a summer house, the creation of Andree Korpys (b.1966) and Markus Löffler (b. 1963).

Korpys/Löffler have often done research into the security areas of society and politics for their films and projects. Control systems and monitoring techniques, which at first sight seem quite inconspicuous, are seen by the artists as central aspects of architecture and interior aesthetics. An additional programme of films by Korpys/Löffler is planned.

Simultaneous to the opening of the summer house and the Cultural Mile we are planning the presentation of the newly-designed exit from the exhibition halls into the courtyard and also a opening between the Kunsthalle and the Künstlerhaus garden.
