For the first time in summer 2003, the Kunsthalle Nürnberg will be involved as a partner in the exhibition "Positions and Trends", to be held for the fifth time. Established back in 1981 by the Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft/Kunstverein Nürnberg, the exhibition has taken place every three years since 1992 in co-operation with the Institut für moderne Kunst Nürnberg.

The series "Positions and Tendencies" presents the main positions and trends of the contemporary Franconian art scene through the works of some 50 artists. The exhibition will be shown concurrently in the Kunsthalle and several other venues in Nuremberg as well as in the municipal galleries of neighbouring cities Fürth and Erlangen. During this time some artists will be 'leaving their mark' in our urban areas with their work.

The event will turn the city of Nuremberg into a stage for an extraordinary "art mile" that will connect it with its neighbouring cities. A catalogue to be published by the Verlag für moderne Kunst Nürnberg will accompany the exhibition.
