With over 130 photographic works and series by 22 artists the exhibition Yet Untitled in the Kunsthalle Nürnberg offers a concentrated sample from Bernd F. Künne's collection. Since the mid 1990's the collector who lives in Hanover, Germany, has built up a collection of more than 700 works of contemporary photography. Central genres and topics that define the character of Bernd F. Künne's collection include portraits and people, urban scenes and countryside.

Bettina Rheims, Madonna - Lying on the Floor of a Red Room, September 1994, New York, from the series Pourquoi m’as-tu abandonnée

Particular emphasis is placed on photography in Germany, which is contrasted with salient examples of European and American photography. This exhibition in the Kunsthalle Nürnberg encompasses a wide and differentiated spectrum of contemporary photography from documentary presentation to the poeticisation of daily life, from street photography to the posed portrait.

Beat Streuli, Sydney Melbourne, 1997/98

A 296-page catalogue providing the first inventory of the collection accompanies the exhibition, with contributions by Christoph Ribbat, Thomas Seelig and Brigitte Werneburg and an interview with Bernd F. Künne (Verlag Hatje Cantz, 39.80 euros).
