Exhibitions Current Preview Archive Visitor's information Publications Order form		time out RENTA Gruppe Nürnberg's art project 1997   July 10, 1997 - August 24, 1997   In 1997, the RENTA prize which so far was always awarded by a jury, will be presented in its new format for the first time: A guest curator is appointed who - in co-operation with the award's organiser and sponsor - will devise a project aiming at an overall view of current art centred on specific topics and presented in the Kunsthalle Nürnberg. Instead of an award being made, RENTA Gruppe Nürnberg will purchase a work of art. The first guest curator serving in this new structure will be Stephan Schmidt-Wulffen from Hamburg, who will be presenting new tendencies in the contemporary art world: The age of information brings about rapid changes in society opening up opportunities for action in various centres of this modernizing process. This creates a new role for art, too. "Unlimited" will document new initiatives by young artists working on the borderline to architecture/design, music, fashion and film.
