Exhibitions Current Preview Archive Visitor's information Publications Order form		Symposium "Image of the Child" Saturday 20th March 1999, starting at 10.00 a.m.   The symposium is a prelude to the exhibition "Forget about the ball and get on with the Game" which will take place in the Kunsthalle Nürnberg in the autumn. In academic and public discussion the present-day and historical image of the child and childhood will be examined. Attention will be paid above all to an analysis and description of the images, topoi, stereotypes, metaphors and clichés used now and in the past when dealing with and thinking or talking about children. The symposium is the result of a collaboration between the Pedagogical Institute of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Art Academy, Düsseldorf, the Siemens Cultural Programme and the Kunsthalle Nürnberg.
